Environmental Compliance Audits
CONSULTECH performs environmental compliance audits to identify:
- Improper handling and disposal of regulated substances used by a property's commercial and industrial tenants
- Environmental concerns relative to current business operations
CONSULTECH conducts site visits to observe operations where toxic substances and/or hazardous waste are handled and to document how discharges of waste streams to the air and water are addressed. We also review different forms of operating documentation for availability, completeness, and compliance with current DOT, U.S. EPA, and state regulations.
CONSULTECH then provides written reports describing any environmentally-related operational deficiencies discovered and the actions needed to achieve and maintain compliance. These actions may include, among other things, recommendations for improved records keeping, if appropriate.
The following documents are reviewed when conducting an environmental compliance audit:
Documentation Review
- Material safety data sheets
- Waste disposal manifests
- Workers' training records for materials handling
- Health and safety plans
- Emergency plan for chemical releases of on-site stored hazardous waste
- Records tracking the type and quantity of hazardous waste generated, if any
- Water discharge, air discharge and other environmentally-related permits
